GarageFlow can draft three things for you. In every case it writes a draft that appears on screen; a person reads it, changes what needs changing, and decides whether to use it. Nothing the AI writes is saved, sent to a customer or posted publicly on its own.
Included in ProThe drafts are written by Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic.
Inspection findings from photos
On an inspection item that has photos, press Draft from photos. The AI looks at the item's most recent photos (up to four, in the order they were taken) and drafts two things:
- a suggested status for the item, and
- the note the customer will read beside the photos on their inspection report.
It also tells you what to check before you use it (Before you use it:), because a photo can't show everything a mechanic can feel or hear. If the photos don't show enough to judge, it says so instead of guessing, and leaves the status empty.
Press Use this to put the status and note on the item, then edit them like anything else, or Dismiss to throw the draft away.
Note
Only photos are used. Videos on the item are left out: a mechanic's clip is usually about a sound, a knock or a squeal, that still frames would lose. Photos are resized before they're sent, which also removes the location a phone stores inside a picture.
The draft matters because of who reads it: the note goes to the customer, and a failed status is a repair you're about to ask them to pay for. That's why it never applies itself. See digital inspections.
Replies to customers
In a conversation in the inbox, Draft a reply with AI writes the shop's next reply and puts it in the message box. Read it, edit it, and send it yourself, or delete it. It's based on the recent messages in that conversation, with the customer's name, the vehicle and your shop's name for context. See talking to customers.
Replies to Google reviews
In Review Manager, Draft with AI writes a reply to a review for you to edit. It's only posted to Google when you send it. See reviews and campaigns.
What is sent, and what isn't
Only what a draft needs is sent to Anthropic, and only when someone presses the button:
| Draft | What is sent |
|---|---|
| Inspection finding | Up to four photos of that item, the item and inspection names, the vehicle's year, make and model, the mileage at check-in, and any notes already written on the inspection. No customer details. |
| Reply to a customer | The recent messages in that conversation, the customer's name, the vehicle and your shop's name |
| Review reply | The review text, the reviewer's name as Google shows it, the star rating and your shop's name |
Data sent for drafts is not used to train Anthropic's models. Nothing is sent in the background: a shop that never presses the buttons never sends anything. The details are in our privacy policy.
On Basic and Growth
The AI assistant is included from Pro. On lower plans the buttons don't appear.
Troubleshooting
"Draft from photos isn't there." The item needs at least one photo, and your plan needs to include the AI assistant.
"It says the photos don't show enough." Take a closer or better-lit photo of the part itself and try again. Or write the finding yourself: the draft is a shortcut, not a step.
"AI drafting isn't set up yet." The AI isn't switched on for your account. Contact support.
"The draft was cut short" or "didn't return a usable draft." Press the button again. Each attempt is independent.
